Can’t I just use AI? It’s free!
We're not saying that you shouldn't use AI, however, information available shows that AI, although highly efficient, is not 100 percent accurate as it is still in the early stages of development. You may have noticed this already!
As brilliant as it is, AI can miss out on the things that can make or break a written piece of work, such as factual accuracy, contextual understanding, and can compromise on style and creativity. AI may also make unnecessary changes and suggestions which can change the tone of your text entirely.
Whilst AI can be a good tool for small tasks, it is not very useful for higher level editing, such that requires critical thinking, understanding and interpretation. A human touch is most certainly not yet replaceable, and therefore manually proofreading your work is still always recommended for those finishing touches.
How does the process work?
An initial (and in most cases final) quote will be provided promptly following a request. We will then request for your document, and provide a final quote, which is likely to be the same if your specified word count is accurate. Should you wish to proceed, please 'accept' the quote, and an invoice will then be sent to you with instructions on how to pay.
As soon as the payment is approved, the document will then be proofread/edited according to the service selected and returned within 3-4 business days to the email address provided. Larger documents over 15,000 words will have a slightly longer processing time, which will be specified upon the quote/invoice provided.
An urgent service (within 48 hours of payment) may also be available at an additional cost, depending on the size of your document. Please include your request for this service within your enquiry.
All texts will be proofread using the Microsoft Word track change feature. You will receive a document with tracked changes (and comments if applicable), as well as a final version that will be ready for use/submission as desired. Additional feedback will also be provided.

Processing time:
The standard turnaround time for texts under 10,000 words is 3-4 working days. For smaller documents under 1000 words, please submit your text for a quote; the price will not exceed £20.99 for any service (basic, enhanced, or superior), and a minimum charge of £11.99 will apply. For larger documents over 15,000 words, a 10% discount will be applied. Please allow a slightly longer processing time for larger documents to be returned (depending on your word count).

Your work will be proofread by an experienced proofreader, who is educated to Master's degree level and has excellent writing and critical analysis skills, in addition to experience in proofreading texts to a high-quality standard. Any text submitted to be proofread will be done so with the utmost passion and care, in line with your requirements.
If you have selected the enhanced or the superior service, please note that you may be contacted to provide further clarity on your content to ensure that the original meaning of the text is sustained.
Any document submitted to Pure Proof will not be shared with any third party.
Pure Proof will not be liable for any work submitted. Whilst a professional service is guaranteed, you will need to be accountable for your own work produced and understand that Pure Proof will not be liable for essay grades, for example, as this is a proofreading service only. By agreeing to have your work proofread, you agree to take ownership of your content, regardless of the service that has been selected.
